Milano Design Week 2024, a journey through the nuances of the natural down experience…

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2024, Assopiuma and Molina Piumini present a journey through the nuances of the natural down experience, staging an exhibition path designed by art director Ilaria Marelli in the three rooms of the prestigious Galleria “THE POOL” at via Santa Maria Fulcorina 20, within the 5VIE circuit.

A poetic narrative made of comfort, lightness, and purity, starting from the selection and processing of feathers, up to the finished product: bed duvets, upholstered furnishings and clothing items, which represent certified excellence in the landscape of Italian manufacturing industry.

The first room – welcoming/information – visualizes in an ethereal and abstract way the controlled flight of feathers, which is part of the raw material selection process. In the actual production process, the systems select the qualities of feather and down precisely based on their upward flight capabilities: the lightest and most precious material flies highest, in a sort of distillation, from chamber to chamber, of the quality and weights of the product.

The second room – immersive experience – features a path of “flying” bed duvets that create a sort of soft and sinuous labyrinth in which to pleasantly lose oneself while relaxing on comfortable down chaise longues. Light on the skin and incredibly breathable, natural down caresses the senses, transforming rest into a “weightless” comfort experience.

The third room – contemplation – displays large down canvases in dialogue with down windbreakers. A striking contrast between hot and cold, between lightness and protection: a dance that reveals the beauty and harmony of two opposites attracting each other.
